We’re continuing our game testing and we’ve now completed testing of the Coastal Cave – the first dungeon in the White Mage prologue. The mapping has been polished, all of the cutscenes are complete, all of the enemies are setup, the treasures have been placed, and the enemies have been rebalanced to make them a bit more challenging.
To improve the cutscenes, we created new functionality to split the party so that you can see all of the party members during the cutscenes. Previously, we had brute forced this functionality but since the Coastal Cave repeatedly relies on splitting/joining the party during cutscenes, we created some “helper” functions that allow splitting and joining the party with single commands which will be a great time saver in the future.
Although the Coastal Cave is complete, there is still work to be done on the White Mage skill animations which will be a significant effort. We hope to provide an update on our progress with those animations next time.
