Immersion in the Last Dream World

Immersion in the Last Dream World

Over the last two weeks, we’ve been hard at work focusing on two major elements of the game to prepare the Gray Mage prologue for demo release:

1) Bug fixes!

2) Adding immersive details to make the world feel real.

We’ve fixed a great many bugs over the last two weeks that appeared as we played through the first dungeon (the Moros Ruins) in the Gray Mage prologue. These bugs were largely focused on battle, especially with multiple enemies; however, other bugs that have been fixed dealt with the permanence of action such as picking up an object (and making sure it remained picked up later).

We’re happy to report that Moros Ruins has been completed during game testing and we’re moving onto testing the second and final dungeon of the Gray Mage prologue.

The other major focus of the last two weeks has been adding the small details that make the Last Dream world feel lived in. This includes interacting with paintings, wall hangings, people, etc.

We’re also nearly done with all the immersive detail in both the town of Ashwood (where the Gray Mage prologue begins) and the first dungeon (the Moros Ruins).

Our hope is that within two weeks, we’ll have completed game testing of the entire Gray Mage prologue and we’ll have an internal review before deciding whether more refinement is necessary or we’re ready to release the game to you, the players.
