The primary difference between the Zealot and the Maniac is how they gain additional rage. The Zealot gains additional rage by suffering additional hits (hence the numerous scars all over his body).

At some point in the game (we don’t want to ruin when), you’ll be presented with the chance to upgrade your class. Unlike Last Dream I where there was only a single upgrade choice for each class, Last Dream II has branching choices for each class. The Time Mage is one of 4 new classes added for Last Dream II and is largely a support character that can speed up other party members or slow down the enemies.
We’ll now our attention to rapidly prototyping the prologues for the remaining classes.

The completion of the Thief’s roaming and battle sprites marks the the penultimate sprite-work that needs to be completed for Last Dream II’s main characters. The only remaining character after the Thief is the Time Mage. Although the Thief is most well-known for using daggers, she can also utilize bows similar to the Hunter. The Thief’s prologue is the only one that explores the unique continent of Saguenay, home to independent city-states like Tyre and Sidon.

The completion of the Monk battle and roaming sprites marks 10 of 12 of the Last Dream II sprites complete. The only remaining classes are the Thief and the Time Mage. The Monk was unique because he does not use weapons and so his guard and physical attack animations for the battle sprite had to be created from scratch. We’re really looking forward to developing the Monk prologue and fleshing out the mechanics of his new “form” system.
We’re continuing our work on the roaming and battle sprites and this time we’d like to show you the completed Lore Master sprites. The Lore Master is one of the new classes in Last Dream II. Her specialty is that she can learn the skills of enemies.
This marks the 75% completion point for the sprites needed for the main characters of Last Dream II. Just three more to go!
